Mothers and babies

Monviso® - The trusted choice for mothers and infants

Anyone can become dehydrated, but certain groups are at an increased risk – particularly babies and infants, and pregnant women. If left untreated, severe dehydration in babies and infants can be serious and cause seizures, brain damage and even death.

Monviso® for Babies and Infants

Pediatricians and health experts recommend that babies drink breastmilk or formula for the first year of life. Bottle-feeding baby formula can be a safe alternative to breastfeeding when practiced carefully. Specifically, the quality of water used for the preparation of both concentrate or powder formula milk is critical for the health of the baby. When using bottled water for to prepare baby formula milk, it is recommended that you choose bottled waters with less than 200 milligrams (mg) a liter of sodium and no more than 250mg a liter of sulphate. These requirements make a large percentage of water sold in supermarkets unsuitable for use in formula preparation for infants.

But we have some good news for you! Monviso® water has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of Health as suitable for the preparation of baby formula and baby food. Monviso has the lowest content of sodium in the world, is free of contaminants and pathogens, has a consistent chemical composition with extremely low nitrate levels, and low-grade mineralization. These properties make Monviso® the clear choice for the preparation of baby formula, but also ideal for breastfeeding mothers, and for the dilution of full fat milk for children. Monviso® for Pregnant Women

The volume of fluids and its distribution in the body changes dramatically during pregnancy. In fact, a woman’s volume of blood may increase as much as 50% during pregnancy! These changes are essential to maintain hemostasis and to support the growing fetus. For these reasons, pregnant women are encouraged to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily to maintain adequate fluid intake. It’s also recommended that after delivery, nursing women should drink a glass of water with each meal and with each nursing session, at least. As with babies and infants, the quality of the water is also important for pregnant and nursing moms. Monviso’s superior qualities make it an easy choice for both mother and child.
