How, when, and where to exercise in Ramadan

We all find it difficult to exercise and to keep a healthy lifestyle during our daily routines. When someone is fasting during Ramadan and is deprived of water for many hours of the day, they need to find optimal solutions.

How long should you exercise during Ramadan?

Your workouts should be somewhere between 30 to 60 minutes. A maximum of 2 cardio workouts are recommended during a week.

When to exercise ?

Before Suhoor it’s the best time to exercise. Try to stick to a low to medium intensity workout and hydrate well with a natural mineral water, half an hour before you start the exercise.

Before Taraweeh prayers is another good time to exercise. Have a low to medium intensity workout and include a pre or post workout meal

After Iftar. About 30 minutes after it you can aim to have a 30 to 60 minutes cardio exercise like cycling, push-ups, pilates or full body stretching.

How to hydrate during Ramadan exercises?

Ideally half an hour before you start the exercise aim to drink a glass or two of natural mineral water. Try to avoid coffee, tea or sugary drinks as it can increase your dehydration levels.

Always keep in mind that if you feel lightheaded, sick, dizzy, you need to stop all exercises and rest immediately.

As Water is vital in our day to day activities, ensure to hydrate with your preferred natural mineral water with every opportunity.
